30 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training

Many people come to the mat expecting to continuously move, stretch, breathe, and even sweat. Actively striving can be classified as a yang practice. Spending more time quietly on the floor, allowing stillness in the body and mind can be classified as a yin practice. Initially, this can be quite difficult… being still… when we are so accustomed to constant action and noise.

Sally Delisle has been sharing the benefits of Yin yoga for over a decade. Join her 30-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training to learn more about this life-balancing practice.

Topics Include:

  • Yin Yoga Fundamentals
  • Qi and the Five Elements
  • Meridian Theory
  • Yoga Postures and Variations
  • Benefits and Contraindications
  • Intelligent Sequencing
  • How Yin Yoga supports Mental Health
30 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Yoga teachers, yoga students, and those completing a 200+ hour teacher training who are interested in balancing a fast-paced lifestyle with a passive practice are welcome to attend this 30 Hour Yin Yoga teacher training.

Yin Yoga is suitable for all bodies, ages, shapes, and sizes. It offers a perfect complement to more active physical workouts or yoga practices. Holding poses with the muscles relaxed for long periods of time stimulates and balances the energy flow in our body, increases joint lubrication, and even reverses common aging symptoms. In a Yin practice, we cultivate elasticity and space allowing for a deep release in the connective tissues. Combining this with mindful meditation invites your attention to the present moment.

With continuous practice, Yin yoga will increase your ability to sit for meditation, support your Yang practice, and create a more well-rounded you off the mat. Yin encourages you to learn to just “be”.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  1. Define yin, yang and restorative yoga including the benefits and contraindications of each.
  2. Create intelligently sequenced yin lesson plans based on Chinese medicine and meridian theory.
  3. Integrate use of props to safely support the body during a yin practice.
  4. Find and share resources for continued learning.

TRAINING FEEDBACK

"We are still talking about this training and the experience. I was able to try a little bit with my PE 10 fitness class. The kids loved the breathing. Not very often our kids can sit back and relax/reflect. Thank you again for taking the time."

"The Trauma-Informed Yoga and Mindfulness professional development workshop was extremely informative and engaging. The instructor did a wonderful job of balancing sharing content knowledge, discussion, and physical practice. The tools and trauma informed practices presented will be simple to bring back to my classroom and beneficial for the scholars. The workshop provides both specific strategies and a trauma-informed lens to view your current practices through. I highly recommend attending!
